SHAWN RASHID
The Journey
Shawn Rashid’s journey is a unique blend of diverse cultures and determination. Born in Atlanta and shaped by his Pakistani and American heritage, he also draws inspiration from Costa Rica’s vibrant ‘Pura Vida’ ethos, which has helped shape him into a spirited competitor.
Despite not starting with the usual foundation in karting, Shawn made a remarkable debut at Laguna Seca’s AMG Academy in 2020, finishing first out of 100 competitors. Impressed by his performance, seasoned pros encouraged him to pursue a career as a professional racing driver. True to his character, Shawn jumped in with both feet.
But Shawn’s talents extend beyond the racetrack. His ability to quickly master new skills, like flying helicopters at age 14, speaks to his adaptability and quick learning. A 2020 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, Shawn’s analytical skills give him an edge on the track.
After his breakthrough at Laguna Seca, he trained intensively with motorsports legend and hall-of-famer Johnny O’Connell at The Thermal Club. A series of successful outings in SCCA club races in 2021 confirmed his decision to race professionally.
History & The Future
In 2022, Shawn took a major leap by moving to the UK to compete in the ultra-competitive National Formula Ford Championship. It was also the start of his partnership with iZone Performance, which sharpened his physical and mental approach to the sport. Despite being a rookie, Shawn exceeded expectations — earning four podiums in the final six races and winning a heat at the iconic Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch. He was crowned Rookie Champion in his debut season.
His progression continued with a move to the GB3 Championship (British Formula 3) in 2023 and 2024. The competition intensified, but Shawn rose to the occasion, securing his first podium and joining the same path once walked by F1 talents like Lando Norris and George Russell.
In 2025, he stepped up again — this time to the Formula Regional Oceania Championship in New Zealand, racing against some of the world’s top young drivers. A podium at the prestigious New Zealand Grand Prix was a standout moment.
Having raced in the world’s leading junior single-seater categories, Shawn now sets his sights on sportscar racing and the Road to Le Mans, making an immediate statement with victory on his Michelin Le Mans Cup debut in Portugal.
Back in the series for a full season, Shawn is racing with Inter Europol for 2026.
“I wouldn’t have done this whole adventure if I didn’t see in him somebody who could make it to the top levels of motorsport, whether it be in the United States or internationally. Having known him so well and his potential, I have great confidence that he can pull this off. The most difficult thing in the sport is finding the people to back him and believe in him and I certainly believe in him.”
